How each story pack is made
How StoryTalkKit plans each story, prepares the picture cards and adult guide, checks the files and handles corrections.
Last updated: 2026-10-07
1. Start with a real sequence
Each story begins as a short outline of events that genuinely depend on each other: the ball rolls away, so the child looks under the bench, so the ball can be found. We avoid orders that are only one arbitrary option, such as packing cups before food, because a sequencing activity should make sense when a child explains it.
2. Plan the shared activity
Before the pictures are finalized, we decide how adults and children will use them: where to start, which words to model, how a child can respond without speaking, and where it is natural to stop. These decisions become the prompts in the adult guide.
3. Prepare the pictures and pages
Each scene is drawn so the important action is easy to see. The same pictures are then laid out as a wordless story, a short-text story, sequencing cards and low-ink activity pages, in A4 and US Letter.
4. Check before release
Before a pack goes live we check that every file opens, has the expected page count and paper size, includes source credits and license information, and matches the website description. Each language version is checked the same way.
5. Correct and update
If you spot a mistake, please tell us at hi@storytalkkit.com. Corrections are released as a new version, which appears in My downloads for existing buyers. If a serious content or rights problem is found, we can pause new sales of that pack while it is fixed.
